Taking a Break
Kevin and his buddy Ryder pause during a hard morning's play to have a quick snack. Being a little boy is a lot of work!

More food!
Alan continues to explore the joys of solid food. Today he ate pieces of apple in a mesh snack bag. Yummy slurping sounds ensued!

Happy Canada Day!
We celebrated our family's 9th annual Canada Day BBQ this past weekend - Canada Day not actually being a holiday down south. It was gratifying to find out what a tradition this has become to our friends, Canadian and American alike!
Mommy was able to find a whole salmon that fit on the grill for the first time in years!

Canada Day - now with more Canadians! Here are Alan and Mackenzie at their first Canada Day celebration!

It wouldn't be the same without the traditional Canadian Flag cake!

We hope all our friends and family have a great holiday this week, whether they are celebrating Canadian or American independence (or both!).

Houston Mini-Vacation, Mark 2
Daddy had another layover in Houston, so we drove out to meet him for another weekend mini-vacation. We got to swim in the pool twice this time, had a lazy room service breakfast and went up to The Woodlands Mall. Mommy couldn't believe that she could get bubble tea in Texas! Since we plan to do a lot of swimming this summer, we got Kevin a couple of beach towels from the Disney Store - Cars and Buzz Lightyear! and Daddy went to check out the Mac Airs at the Apple Shop.

The Woodlands Mall had a great playground at the center - an Enchanted Forest!

Kevin takes a break from playing hard to refuel.

Alan had fun hanging out with Daddy.
After a quick nap and a swim, we went out for dinner. We went to the Japanese restaurant right by the hotel again, only this time we sat at the grill table.

Kevin LOVED the show!

After all, what guy doesn't love a flaming volcano?

Kevin was fascinated!

Kevin's Happy Birthday
Kevin is three years old today! To celebrate, Mommy took Kevin to the pool, where we met up with his buddy Ryder and Ryder's Mommy.

Kevin in his swim suit with wild hair. Don't tell Daddy!
After playing in the water, we went to the cafe for lunch.

Then it was time to pick up baby Alan and go home for a nap! That was the theory anyway. For the third year in a row, Kevin refused to nap on his birthday. Oh well! After Alan's nap, we went to join some more friends for the MOMS Club family night. What a busy birthday! Happy Birthday sweet pea!

The Thumper and Mr. Cheeks
We've changed the title of the blog again, thanks to Daddy's latest nicknames for the boys.

Kevin is "The Thumper". It's amazing how such a little man can sound like a herd of elephants! Whether it's going up and down stairs, climbing all over the couch, or doing tumbles, as seen here in the picture from the soft mat at one of his favourite indoor playgrounds, Kevin sure does a lot of thumping!

Alan is Mr. Cheeks. Look at this picture! Do we need any further explanation?

Here they are again, the Thumper and Mr. Cheeks!
